10 Cozy Journaling Ideas for Slow Days

The beautiful thing about journaling on slow days is that you can take your time to focus on yourself. Get yourself a cup of coffee or tea, and let the pages be filled with thoughts, dreams, manifestations, and random doodles. It’s a safe space for your thoughts and ready for whatever you’re ready to pour out.

Here are 10 gentle ways to fill your pages without pressure, just soft energy and cozy vibes.

1.      Write down one beautiful thing you noticed today.

A beautiful tree? Or perhaps the little birdie on your windowsill. Small wonders count and make life more visually exciting.

2.      Paste in a sticker that matches your mood.

Sometimes words are too heavy, or you simply want to decorate your kindle or journal. Take the croissant jaguar sticker; it says everything you can’t [Browse stickers here] but def gives you the cozy and fun vibes instantly.

3.      Make a “right now” list.

Instead of a to-do list. Make a right now list; it’s about getting all your thoughts down instantly. What do you need in the moment? Write it down.

4.      Write a letter to your future self.

A great way to look back at your life is to write to yourself. Write down your struggles, your achievements, and everything else you’re proud of. Promise yourself that you’re trying and look back 2 months from now.

5.      Collect a “soft moment” memory.

A great way to fill your journal pages is to describe a memory that feels like a warm blanket. What did the air smell like? The background music that played that day? Let yourself relive it slowly.

6.      Create a page of things that comfort you.

The ocean sound. Rain on windows… perhaps the smell of fresh bread? List them all and decorate the edges with random doodles or stickers.

7.      Doodling

This is one of the best examples of doing something creative. No thought, just relaxation and random ideas. No artistic skill required, just a pen or pencil and you’re ready to go. Great for days when you’re unsure of what you’re feeling.

8.      Write a review of your day as if it were a movie or book.

“The star of the show drank a cup of coffee and smiled. A quiet moment had turned into a quest of self”.

9.      Make a page for affirmations.

Take your fave affirmations, lyrics or quotes and write them down on your journal page. This is a great way to set goals but also to romanticize your life.

10. End with a kind sentence to yourself.

You’re the star of your journal. Don’t edit yourself; be free. Some examples: I am proud of myself today.  Or simply: I am magical.

Honestly, take your time with these. Pick one of them. There’s no right way to journal on a slow day – just your way. Take your fave pen, a little sticker, and listen to music that gives you those good vibrations.
